Julie Wiley attended Duke University, where she obtained a dual degree in Public Policy Studies and Art History. She also holds a law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law. Julie practiced law for over ten years, working in both private practice and as a Senior Surety Claim Attorney for The St. Paul Companies (now Travelers). Since 2005, she was an Assistant Director of MBA Admissions for UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Julie moved to Carbondale in 2008 with her husband and two children. She is active in the PTO of Crystal River Elementary School, as well as volunteering with Tom’s Door, a local non-profit that serves families in need in the Roaring Fork Valley. In the past, Julie has been involved as a member of the Moore County Arts Council Board of Trustees, Founding Chair of the Society for Arts and Medicine (Moore County, NC), the Christ Church Preschool Board of Trustees (Chair and Vice-Chair), as well as the Christ Church Board of Trustees.
Michael Lowe has been involved in Education Innovation as a classroom teacher, administrator and consultant for the last two decades. He previously headed up the Best Practices division of the Center for Teaching and Learning in Denver and helped bring together private and public agencies on multi-million dollar National Science Foundation grants. For several years he worked for the Colorado Department of Education as a senior consultant, helping establish several innovative programs that are still an integrated part of many schools in Colorado. Since moving here, he has taught in the Roaring Fork School District, been an administrative advisor for the Mountain BOCES and co-founded a multi-media company. He continues to consult for a variety of universities, public schools and state agencies who share his commitment to integrate innovative solution to the ongoing challenges in education.
Scott Levine is a New Yorker at heart, but loves living in the Roaring Fork Valley for the last 15 years, with his family. His work over those years exposed him to many people and experiences, giving him a diverse background and management career. A passion for music led him to working as a controller for Jazz Aspen Snowmass, Aspen, CO, where he still volunteers, a volunteer DJ for KDNK, and Host of KSPN’s Tuba’s Festival Review. Currently, he is employed at Land Rover Roaring Fork, enjoying his Master Sales Guide/Guild Member position. Involved with his children’s educational experiences, he served five years on the Board of CRMS Preschool, two years on the Roaring Fork Public Education Foundation, and manages/ coaches Glenwood Grizzly Pee Wee Hockey.
Nancy Colia is a Glenwood Springs resident for 22 years. She graduated from LSU with a BS in Marketing, worked as broker assistant at Merrill Lynch and Hanifen, Imhoff, and owned and operated Structured Chaos, a clothing design and manufacturing business, from Glenwood Springs for 12 years. She is currently the administrator for the Glenwood Springs Soccer Club and is developing a graphic design business. She has volunteered with the Glenwood Springs Arts Council, the Glenwood Recreation Department, Youthzone, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Nancy is a RE-1 School District employee (SES financial secretary and substitute teacher) as a parent volunteer, and as wife of RFHS principal, Cliff Colia. Together they have raised 3 boys involved in sports, music, and arts in the valley.
Jennifer Tuggle is a co-founder of Greensprouts with years of fundraising experience, currently on the Boards of CRMS Preschool fundraising, the LobsterCrawl in Carbondale, the Marble Charter School Board and assisting Roaring Fork Conservancy and the LKL in Marble. As principal of Design Alternatives by Jennifer LLC, interior design firm focuses on eco-friendly, energy-efficient solutions for commercial businesses. In addition, Jennifer founded a small photographic company, 5600 Photography, selling Rocky Mountain scenic images and photos of everyday life.
Elizabeth Murphy, a co-founder of Greensprouts and a dedicated parent volunteer, served as the Board President of the CRMS Preschool for two years. While President, Elizabeth founded and chaired the LobsterCrawl in Carbondale, a 5K, 10k and Kids’ race to help benefit the preschool. Also the owner and co-founder of Colorado Mountain Kids, LLC, she is the Director of Marketing and Advertising for the Rocky Mountain Playground Magazine and is the web designer for www.rockymountainplayground.com. She co-authored Colorado Mountain Kids, A Guide to Entertaining Kids in the Roaring Fork Valley, in 2002.
Courtney Kleager involves herself in fundraising on many different levels for her children’s schools, most recently the capitol campaign for Carbondale Community School and The Big Event. Being a co-founder of Greensprouts, she also joined the LobsterCrawl in 2009 supporting fundraising efforts. Courtney owns and manages a window coverings company, CKW Inc., providing eco-friendly products, among others. She is an active participant in the Glenwood Springs Soccer Club, assisting with their coaching and fundraising as well.
